New Zealand's Kurt Bayer reports on the case of Michael James Pratt, a 52-year-old New Zealander who has been listed by the FBI as a wanted fugitive for selling child pornography and engaging in sex trafficking. Pratt is currently in Los Angeles, California, awaiting trial in the U.S. Southern District Court for charges including fraud, money laundering, and other related crimes. The case dates back to 2012 when Pratt and his associates were involved in a scheme targeting vulnerable women and minors, using their appearance on adult websites like GirlsDoPorn to lure them into illegal activities. The FBI's 'wanted fugitive' list, created by J. Edgar Hoover in 1950, now features Pratt as the 529th wanted individual with a $100,000 reward for information leading to his capture. The scheme involved recruiting young women and minors through online platforms, offering them financial incentives to participate in illegal activities that would protect their privacy. Many victims faced economic hardship before falling victim to this criminal network. The case has been recognized by U.S. courts, and Pratt's accomplice Matthew Isaac Wolfe was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his role in the fraud and exploitation of vulnerable minors.
