Auckland Council批准Plan Change 78计划,推动更密集建筑
Auckland City Council has approved Plan Change 78, which will promote more dense development in the central business district.
According to the latest plans, the height limit of this area will be raised from 20 meters to between 40 and 60 meters. This decision has sparked widespread discussion, particularly concerning its impact on existing buildings and the community.
Auckland City Council recently voted in support of Plan Change 78, which aims to allow higher building densities, including over 2,000 apartments. The project is being led by Ngāti Whātua's commercial entity, Whai Rawa. However, the company has not yet established formal partnerships with relevant parties.
Auckland Council had previously considered incorporating Townhouse complexes into large residential projects but faced various obstacles that prevented this from happening. Earlier attempts to develop these complexes were not successful due to funding constraints.
Meanwhile, Good Place for Older (GOP) has expressed strong interest in the same plot of land and plans to develop multiple apartment projects within the area. Although previous bids were rejected due to a lack of funds, this new development marks progress.
Auckland City Councillor emphasized that GOP's latest plan is independent of their earlier attempts and represents fresh commercial exploration. The transformation of Auckland Townhouse complexes will inject new life into the central business district but has raised concerns about the impact on existing buildings and community facilities.
Some residents have expressed opposition to the increased density, citing potential effects on daily living and community atmosphere. Auckland Council is actively pursuing multiple projects to achieve its goal of more dense development, including initiatives to improve public facilities and transportation infrastructure. These efforts aim to create a more vibrant and inclusive environment for the central business district.
