Cambridge少女在火灾中身亡
Cambridge fatal fire claimed life of 14-year-old student
Adequate information has been released by the school, which stated that Navaeh Ngamoki-Porter, a Grade 9 student at Hamilton High School, was the victim.
Firefighters confirmed that the young woman was trapped in a burning room when she was rescued and taken to the hospital. At the time of the incident, the room contained three young women: Navaeh Ngamoki-Porter, her older sister, and the boyfriend of her elder sister.
Firefighters entered the room where they found her trapped in the flames and were able to extricate her from the inferno. Police stated that she was badly injured when rescued and later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Ngaomoki-Porter's sister expressed shock upon hearing of her sister's tragic demise. One neighbor recalled the cries heard in the early hours of the morning, with one person describing how they saw a granny flat across the street where someone was calling for help but only had their wallet, keys, and clothing.
Firefighters stated that at this stage it is unclear what caused the fire. However, preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was an ordinary family home fire.
