男子因过量饮酒对宠物狗实施暴力被判community work和禁养五年
In New Zealand, a man was sentenced to community work and banned from owning a dog for five years after he drank too much alcohol and beat his dog with a拳头 and household tools.
24-year-old Ronan Apiti was charged in January 2023 after he hit his dog Buck multiple times with fists and household items after drinking heavily. He had already consumed an excessive amount of alcohol, which made him angry.
According to court documents, Apiti was hitting the dog in the face and body with fists and household tools when he became violent. He bit the dog's jaw and caused multiple injuries on its body. Despite Buck's family calling the police after the incident, Apiti remained hidden in his bathroom until he was arrested.
法官 pointed out that Apiti's behavior was "shocking" and imposed a community service order and a five-year ban from owning a dog. The court also ordered Apiti to take alcohol and drug tests in the future and limit his drinking for the next five years.
