Chong Cheng Secondary School is alleged to have violated regulations by 'leveraging a shell' for Shenzhen tutoring institution 'Star Pick'. The Education Bureau stated on Friday (8th) that it has learned of multiple civil litigation cases regarding the management rights of the Hong Kong Chong Cheng Association, and the permanent secretary general feels that the actions of the school's board of governors are unsatisfactory. Therefore, according to the Education Ordinance, the school has been suspended from operating within its premises or any part of its premises. Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, stated on social media today (9th) that the Hong Kong DSE and ID cards are popular, and one must be vigilant against underhanded tactics that aim to 'extract money' from the people of the mainland. He also said that the integration and development between Hong Kong and the mainland are certainly necessary, but the key is to design the 'valve' properly, and Hong Kong must not 'open the gates wide' and allow a flood of resources.
