Completion of Landslide Repair Work on North Path Road, Sai Kung Restores Two-way Traffic

Near the Tuen Mun Training Camp of the Community Safety Service Team on North Path Road, Sai Kung, on Tuesday (5th), a landslide occurred due to continuous heavy rain. A temporary single-lane two-way traffic arrangement was implemented to carry out emergency slope repair work. The Road Department has latest stated that the relevant works are now completed, and the section of the road was fully reopened at 8 p.m. tonight (9th), restoring two-way traffic.
The Road Department said it would like to thank the contractors, frontline workers, and colleagues from the department for their joint efforts in completing the slope repair work within a few days, allowing the affected section to be quickly and fully reopened.
From July 29 to August 5, the Hong Kong Observatory issued black rainstorm warnings four times within a week. As of 5 p.m. on August 5, the Geotechnical Engineering Office received 18 landslide reports, involving areas such as Sai Kung, Taipo, and Kwai Chung.
The Road Department has latest stated that the relevant works are now completed, and the section of the road was fully reopened at 8 p.m. tonight (August 9th), restoring two-way traffic.
