The Taipei City Government's Tourism and Public Relations Bureau held a two-day 'Taipei Heart-Stealing Journey' tourism promotion event on the 9th at SM Aura Shopping Mall in the BGC emerging development area of Manila. The event was attended by Deputy Representative Yang Dengshi of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, Philippine tourism operators, and many shoppers who visited the event hall. The Filipino tourism influencer duo 'The Poor Traveler,' with 1.5 million followers, told Central News Agency during the event that one of the major advantages of visiting Taipei or Taiwan is that Filipinos do not need to do much pre-travel preparation, due to the 14-day visa-free travel policy offered by the Taiwanese government. Yosh Dimen praised the friendliness and helpfulness of the Taiwanese people, noting that foreign tourists would not get lost or make mistakes and would not become 'The Poor Traveler.' Dimen said that Taipei is not only home to the former world's tallest building, Taipei 101, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and Longshan Temple, but also has many other places worth exploring, each with rich cultural heritage and various cuisines. He mentioned that Yangmingshan National Park, Qingtian岗 Grassland, Dadai Cheng, Guandu Pier, and JianTan Mountain Trail are all 'underrated attractions,' and suggested that Filipinos visiting Taipei should 'stay a bit longer.' Krisell Lumagui, an influencer with 1 million followers, said she loves food and attractions, enjoying the intimate contact between nature and the city, and that Taipei is a place that offers all these features. She said, 'The moment you step into the airport, you will feel a strange sense of wonder, eager to explore this city.' Lumagui, who likes family trips, has already visited Taiwan twice, and even with a 7-year-old child, her travels were very convenient. She said, 'Taipei is so safe for everyone. I like the friendliness of the people... we plan to go back and stay for about a month.' According to data from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, approximately 500,000 Filipinos visited Taiwan in 2024, and over 180,000 Philippine tourists visited Taiwan in the first four months of this year. The Philippines has become the largest source of tourism in Southeast Asia for Taiwan. Of the Philippine tourists visiting Taiwan, it is estimated that more than 80% use Taipei as their first destination. Hsieh Meiyun, Director of the Tourism Development Division of the Taipei City Government's Tourism and Public Relations Bureau, introduced that Filipinos like high cost-performance tourism attractions, and Taipei has designed three travel routes accordingly, namely the Nature Scenery Route, the Family Fun Route, and the City Exploration Route. The 'Taipei Heart-Stealing Journey' tourism promotion event set up 'Four Heart-Stealing Experience Stations,' including the Taipei Heart-Stealing Wall, Taipei Postcard Coloring Experience, Taipei Lucky Wheel, and Taipei Travel Consultation Station and Happy Scenic Spot Check-In Wall, fully presenting the characteristics of Taipei tourism. Through Google News, track Central News Agency. The public can receive a beautiful eco-friendly tote bag by completing the four experience stations, and also have the chance to win round-trip tickets from Taipei to Manila provided by the Philippine Airlines, and double tickets for dinner on a Taipei double-decker food truck. The event will continue until 9 PM tomorrow. In addition to the physical event, the Taipei Tourism and Public Relations Bureau also simultaneously set up large outdoor billboards in the main commercial areas of Manila and combined local jeepney vehicles to display mobile advertisements, expanding promotional effects through both fixed and mobile exposure.
