A fake luxury watch repair shop at Peninsula Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui recently fell victim to a scam. Two Chinese men, introduced by an expert, sold two luxury watches worth nearly HKD 4.6 million at the shop. The scammers used specially made tools to hide the watches and then left the scene under the pretext of something else. The victims eventually found out that the cash they received was only 'training coupons,' while the watches had already disappeared. After an investigation, the police arrested two local men involved in the case and recovered part of the stolen money. Currently, they are looking into the whereabouts of the missing watch and the suspect who fled to Macau.
