These individuals will face severe punishment. Jahanpour, a spokesperson for Iran's judicial department, said that some of the 20 suspects have had their charges dropped and have been released, but did not provide the number. The number of people executed in Iran this year for being convicted of spying for Israel has increased significantly, including eight death sentences carried out in recent months.
