Victorian Government Urged to Expedite Long-Overdue Women's Pain Inquiry

Women across Victoria are growing increasingly frustrated as the state's first-ever inquiry into the treatment of women's chronic pain remains months overdue. The inquiry, launched by the Victorian government in early 2024, was expected to deliver findings and recommendations by the end of 2024, but its release has been pushed back to mid-2025 — a delay that has left many living with chronic pain feeling abandoned by the system.

The inquiry was established in response to mounting evidence that women with chronic pain conditions are frequently dismissed, misdiagnosed, or even told their pain is
