On Thursday (7th) around 5 p.m., a Citybus and another KMB bus collided on Nathan Road near Boundary Street heading towards Lai Chi Kok. Two female passengers of the Citybus sustained minor injuries and were conscious when sent to the hospital for treatment. Online, many photos and videos circulated showing the Citybus and KMB bus stopped one after the other at the scene. The Citybus was tilted, with the front on the first lane and the back on the second lane, with shattered windows. The KMB bus was on the first lane, and its right rearview mirror had detached. In the video, it can be seen that glass was scattered all over the Citybus. Some people exclaimed, 'Wow,' 'All the windows broke.' People outside the bus looked astonished. A witness left a comment online, suspecting that one of the bus drivers 'did not look clearly before cutting in.' It is understood that the involved KMB bus was route 67X, and the Citybus was route 970X. The police replied to the inquiry from Hong Kong 01, stating that at 5:21 p.m. on August 7, a Citybus was traveling northbound on Nathan Road, approaching Boundary Street, and cut from the second lane to the first lane, colliding with a KMB bus that was on the first lane. The 62-year-old male Citybus driver and the 35-year-old male KMB driver were not injured. Two female passengers of the Citybus, aged 73 and 31, were injured by shattered glass, sustaining injuries to their arms and necks, and were conscious when sent to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment by ambulance. Hong Kong 01 is currently seeking information from Citybus and KMB regarding the incident.
