Copper wire from lightning rod on MTR's Blossom Station rooftop stolen, case involves about HK$100,000

A theft incident occurred at MTR's Blossom Station. At around 3:46 p.m. today (7th), the police received a report from an MTR staff member, stating that copper wires had disappeared from the rooftop of Blossom Station. After preliminary investigation by officers, it was believed that copper wires worth approximately HK$100,000 had been stolen from the location, and the case was classified as 'theft' and handed over to the 5th Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tseung Kwan O Police Division for follow-up. It is understood that the stolen copper wires were used for the lightning rod. MTR replied to the inquiry from Hong Kong 01, stating that during the midday inspection of the drainage system at Blossom Station, staff discovered that part of the copper band installed on the station's rooftop lightning rod was missing, and they immediately alerted the police. The incident has been handed over to the police for investigation.
