Four cyclists were suspected of being dissatisfied with a minibus honking at them while cycling on Tai Wo Road last year. The cyclists were involved in an altercation with the minibus driver and were charged with causing disturbance in public places, not using cycle lanes, and riding bicycles on pedestrian paths. The case was heard again today (7th) at the Fanling Magistrates' Court. Two men and women admitted to riding bicycles on pedestrian paths and were each fined HK$1,000. The remaining two defendants were adjourned to September 16th for their plea, with one defendant to discuss alternative ways to resolve the case with the prosecution.
