The Taiwanese original television drama 'Zero Day Attack' held its premiere in Tokyo's Shinjuku on August 7, 2025. This series, set against the backdrop of a Taiwan Strait war, attracted many Japanese political and media figures. The drama was co-produced by producer Zheng Xinmei and former Secretary-General of the Cultural Council Lin Jinchang, and stars Japanese actor Takahashi Ichirō, Taiwanese actress Lian Yuhan, and Hong Kong actor Du Wenze. At the premiere, Koji Furuya, the chairman of the 'Japan-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Association,' a cross-party group of Japanese legislators, stated that only Taiwan could produce such a work with realism and depth. Additionally, former Japanese Defense Minister Kimihito Kihara praised the high quality of the series after watching it, noting that the nature of modern warfare has shifted from traditional military conflicts to cyber and infrastructure attacks, and urged more Japanese people to watch the series to increase awareness of potential threats. Li Yiyang, the representative in Japan, emphasized that through this series, it is possible to enhance the consensus and cooperative awareness between the people of Taiwan and Japan regarding regional peace and stability. 'Zero Day Attack' will premiere three episodes on Japan's Amazon Prime Video on August 15, followed by simultaneous broadcast with Taiwan.
