President Trump issued an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods, due to India's direct or indirect import of Russian oil. Combined with the previously imposed 25%, Indian goods exported to the United States now face tariffs as high as 50%. Trump stated that India is a major buyer of Russian oil, which is a primary financial source for Moscow's military operations in Ukraine. Trump had previously threatened to impose 'secondary tariffs' on countries that continue to trade with Russia, such as China and India.
