(CNA reporter Hsieh Ching-wen, Taipei, August 5) The Wei Chuan Dragons faced the中信 Brothers today, relying on the quality start of foreign pitcher Steel Dragon, who allowed only one run in six innings. Chu Yu-hsien hit a 3-run home run to take the lead, leading the team to a 4-3 victory. Chu Yu-hsien was one triple away from a cycle, and he joked that he noticed, but it requires the right combination of heaven, earth, and people.
The Dragons played their home game at the Taipei Big Egg today against the Brothers. In the 1st inning, the Brothers took the lead with consecutive walks and an RBI single by Tseng Song-en. In the 3rd inning, they added another run with a walk, an error, and a stolen base.
The Dragons scored in the 3rd inning. Tseng Sheng-an drew a walk, and with one out, Li K'ai-wei hit a single. Chu Yu-hsien hit a home run, a 3-run home run that changed the game, and the team continued their offensive momentum with Ji Li Ji Lao's Gong Guan single. Chen Tzu-hao drew a walk, and Liu Ji-hong followed with a single, adding another insurance run for the team.
Tseng Kuan-wei, who had gone 18 consecutive games without allowing a run before the game, entered the game in the 9th inning as a relief pitcher. He pitched one inning and allowed one run but quickly regained control and didn't allow any further runs, helping the team secure the victory and ending his 18-game (17-inning) streak of no runs allowed. He earned his 12th save of the season.
Chu Yu-hsien has found his rhythm, hitting a single in the 1st inning and a home run in the 3rd inning, which was his 9th home run of the season. He also hit a double in the 4th inning and was struck out in the 6th inning. He went 4-for-4 with three hits and drove in three runs, earning the game's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Chu Yu-hsien was one hit away from a cycle in his first three at-bats, falling just one triple short of a cycle. He joked that he noticed, but didn't think too much about it. Whether it happens or not is destined. It's not easy to hit a triple at the Big Egg, and the most important thing is that the team won the game.

The Dragons' foreign pitcher Steel Dragon (Drew Gagnon) threw 91 pitches over six innings, allowing only one hit, issuing five walks, striking out six batters, and giving up two runs (one earned run). He had a quality start and earned his eighth win of the season.
Wei Chuan Dragons' head coach Yeh Chün-chang said that Tseng Kuan-wei had not played since July 27, and the lack of consistent playing time affected his adjustment. He's positioned in more important situations, and when the pressure comes, he feels a bit unfamiliar, which sometimes leads to some issues.
