Cheng Chong-lung, the artistic director of Cloud Gate Dance Theater, will launch a new work titled 'Ears That Won't Shut Off' in October. He has specially invited Tu Tu-zhi, a recipient of the National Artist Award, and French composer Esteban Fernandez, among others, to collaborate on the creation of 'Ears That Won't Shut Off'. This work is inspired by sound and explores the interaction between sound and physical movement during the creative process. It also invites multiple artists to participate, including visual artist Wu Geng-zhen, fashion designer Chen Shao-yan, and laser artist Zhang Fang-yu. The main visual design is handled by Ho Chia-hsing. The work is co-produced by the National Theater Company and the French National Theatre of Phoenix, and is scheduled to premiere at the National Theater of Taipei from October 23 to 26. Subsequent performances will take place at the National Taichung Theater and the Kaohsiung National Kaohsiung Performing Arts Center, with a premiere at the French Theatre of Phoenix in 2027.
