At around 5:00 PM on the 5th floor of a residential building on Dongxin Road in Keelung City, a fire broke out. Thick smoke continuously emerged from inside the building. A man in his 60s was trapped inside. After firefighters controlled the fire, they entered the building for search and rescue. Ultimately, the deceased man was found at the junction between the kitchen and the corridor. At 4:58 PM, the Keelung City Fire Department received a report and immediately dispatched the first squad, Shinyi, Shinyi 2, Ren'ai, and Qidu squads. A total of 16 fire trucks and 27 firefighters were sent to the scene for rescue operations. After the fire was controlled at 5:31 PM, firefighters entered the building for search and rescue and found the man had already died in the kitchen. As for the cause of the fire, it remains to be investigated by the fire department.
