The Central Weather Bureau stated that due to the influence of typhoons, low-pressure systems, and the southwest monsoon, the average accumulated rainfall at plains stations across Taiwan in July reached 767.0 millimeters, setting a new record since 1951. In addition, the sunshine duration in July was 137.6 hours, the lowest for the same period. The Weather Bureau noted that these data indicate Taiwan experienced abnormal weather conditions in July, with frequent rainfall and short sunshine hours.
