The Ministry of Finance announced on the 4th the draft amendment to the License Tax Act, extending the period during which metropolitan and county/city governments exempt electric vehicles from license tax by four years, until December 31, 2028. This move aims to encourage the use of low-pollution vehicles, promote the development of the electric vehicle industry, and advance the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. According to statistics, from 2012 to the end of 2025, the number of electric vehicles has grown 306 times, increasing from over 300 to more than 97,000.
