A Ukrainian cross-party parliamentary delegation visited Taiwan, and Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a welcome banquet on the evening of the 4th to greet the visiting delegation for exchanges in Taiwan. This is the first time since 1993 that Ukrainian parliamentarians have formed a cross-party group to visit Taiwan. Lin Chia-lung said in his speech that since Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Taiwan has collaborated with many countries to assist Ukraine in rebuilding schools, churches, and hospitals, and has supported local governments in Ukraine with humanitarian aid programs, including the promotion of 5G communications, smart healthcare, and information talent training. Kniazhytsky, the head of the delegation, said in his speech that the people of Ukraine appreciate the various humanitarian aid provided by Taiwan, and are concerned about Taiwan facing similar situations in the future, hoping that Taiwan and Ukraine will strengthen cooperation to counter the expansion of authoritarianism. The nine-member delegation was invited to visit Taiwan from the 4th to the 8th, with members covering the main political parties. During their visit, they will meet with senior officials of the Taiwan government, visit the Legislative Yuan, and attend the 'Caidaglan Forum'. The delegation will also visit related industries in Taiwan, such as aerospace industry, smart healthcare, and precision machinery, to deepen economic and trade cooperation between Taiwan and Ukraine.
