Black rain has struck again, the Hong Kong Observatory issued a black rain warning signal again at 5:50 am today (5th), and it is expected to last at least until 11 am this morning. The Observatory said that heavy rain is occurring in the Central and Western District and the Islands District, with hourly rainfall expected to exceed 100 mm, potentially causing severe flooding. Some roads within the Mary Hospital area have experienced severe flooding, affecting emergency services.
Social media has circulated videos from this morning showing flooding inside Mary Hospital. It can be seen that the main entrance of Mary Hospital is like a river, even the water barriers have been washed away and are floating along the current. Another video also shows that there is severe flooding around Mary Hospital, and the uploader described it as the 'Mary Sea'.
At around 9 am this morning, a reporter from Hong Kong 01 visited Mary Hospital to inspect the situation, but encountered flooding along the way. There were even 'waterfalls' on the slopes, with a large amount of rainwater rushing down. By around 10 am, the reporter reached Mary Hospital and found that the water depth had already reached the calf level. On-site, fire personnel and hospital staff were installing waterproof gates at the main building. The Drainage Department's emergency response team had also arrived at Mary Hospital to handle the flooding and deployed the 'Dragon Sucker' robot to manage the flooding.
