Man Sentenced to Life Without Parole for Killing and Dismembering Milwaukee College Student Sade Robinson

A man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal murder and dismemberment of Sade Robinson, a 19-year-old Milwaukee college student, following their first date in April 2024.

The victim, Sade Robinson, was last seen alive at the home of Maxwell Anderson, 33, after meeting him for their first date at the Twisted Fisherman seafood restaurant on West Canal Street in Milwaukee. Her dismembered body parts were found across the Milwaukee area, with her arm washing up on a beach in Waukegan, 53 miles from Milwaukee.

Anderson was found guilty in June of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, arson of property, and hiding a corpse. He was sentenced on Friday by Milwaukee County Judge Laura Crivello, who emphasized that Anderson had failed to take responsibility for the crime.

Prosecutors said that Anderson mutilated Robinson’s body and then scattered parts of it around the Milwaukee area. A leg severed at the hip was found by a passerby in Warnimont Park on the evening of April 2, 2024, and a foot was discovered four days later near 31st and Galena streets in the Walnut Hill neighborhood. Additional remains were found in the weeks that followed, including a torso and an arm found at a remote stretch of Lake Michigan beach in South Milwaukee.

Robinson’s family delivered emotional statements during the sentencing hearing. Carlos Robinson, Sade’s father, said, “He deserves the punishment that he gave to my daughter. Everything that he did to her should be done to him. That would be justice.”

Adrianna Reams, Sade’s sister, described the lasting impact of the crime on her life, saying, “He made it to where I cannot trust anyone... not just emotionally, but I cannot meet any person without fear that they're going to harm or kill me.”

Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarborough, called Anderson a “devil” and his family “demonic.” She addressed Anderson directly, using profanity to describe him.

Anderson, however, denied committing the crime, claiming that an unknown assailant abducted Robinson and that someone else set her car on fire to frame him. He stated, “From the bottom of my heart, my deepest and most sincere condolences go out to Sade's family, as well as everyone affected by this tragedy. I took this to trial without ever once trying to make a plea deal of any kind, because I did not commit these crimes.”

Before delivering the sentence, Judge Crivello said, “I have to look at whether you're remorseful, and I don't think you're remorseful in any way.”

In addition to the criminal charges, Robinson’s mother has filed a lawsuit against two Milwaukee bars that allegedly served her, who was underage at the time she met Anderson. The Robinson family has also filed a civil lawsuit against Anderson.

The case has drawn national attention, with many calling for justice for Sade Robinson and condemning the heinous nature of the crime. As the family continues to seek closure, the community reflects on the tragic loss of a young life taken in such a brutal and senseless manner.
