A case of child abuse occurred in Wan Chai. At around 3:43 AM today (5th), the police received a report from the mother of a 1-year-old boy, stating that her son was suspected to have been improperly treated by a domestic worker in a unit on Ai Qun Road in Wan Chai. Officers arrived at the scene and, after an initial investigation, believe that the boy was struck on the head by the domestic worker. The 42-year-old Filipina female domestic worker is suspected of abusing or neglecting the child under her care and has been arrested and is currently being detained for investigation. The case is being handled by the 5th Criminal Investigation Unit of the Wan Chai Police Division. The boy showed no visible injuries and is receiving treatment at the Yuet Wo Tai Tsz Hospital in the Eastern District.
