Giant Baby Weighing 10kg at Four Months Stuns Internet

A young mother from the United States has gone viral online after sharing a video of her exceptionally large baby, who weighs 10.2kg at just four months old.

Maci Mugele, a 21-year-old from Oklahoma, has captured the attention of millions with her TikTok video showing her son, Gunner, who now weighs over 10kg and measures over 61cm in height. The video has amassed nearly 20 million views, with people stunned by the baby’s size and rapid growth.

Gunner was born on February 19 at a standard weight of 3.6kg and 49.5cm long. Since then, he has grown rapidly, now measuring over 61cm tall and weighing more than double the average for his age. Mugele shared that she noticed Gunner was significantly larger than other babies even during her pregnancy.

"He always measured a week or two ahead [when I was pregnant]," Mugele told Kennedy News in the US. "I could just tell that he was pretty big, and everybody already told me that my stomach was bigger than average." She even paid for extra ultrasounds to get a better idea of her baby’s size.

"They told me that he was measuring quite large for how far along I was," she said. "I think I was like 34 weeks when he was measuring at 6 [pounds] and 3-ounces [2.8kg]." Despite the massive size, doctors have assured her that Gunner is healthy, stating that "sometimes people just have big babies."

Mugele described that her son ate more than average, something he has done ever since the second day in the hospital, but his appetite hasn’t worried health professionals. "Doctors always told me he was eating a little bit more than the normal baby, which is fine, they said." Gunner now wears clothes made for toddlers, which has sparked both admiration and criticism online.

While many praised the "strong" and "adorable baby" in Mugele’s video, others were less kind, sending abusive messages about his health. "I thought that people would think it was cute if they saw it, but I didn’t realize how horrible people can be," Mugele said. "It made me upset to realize that there are people like that in this world who feel so comfortable saying these things about a baby."

Despite the online backlash, Mugele remains confident that her baby is healthy. "I’m simply feeding my baby when he’s hungry and, like the doctor said, he’s perfectly healthy," she said.

As the video continues to trend, it has sparked conversations about baby size, health, and the pressures of social media. Gunner’s story serves as a reminder that every child is unique, and sometimes, the most extraordinary moments are the ones that bring people together.
