A caller reported seeing a teddy bear that looked as if it were made of blood-soaked human flesh, sparking immediate concern and a swift police response.

"On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 12:07pm, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a suspicious circumstances call at the AMPM gas station on Bear Valley Road," a statement from the sheriff's department said. "Callers indicated a teddy bear made of what looked like human flesh was left in front of the business."

Upon arrival, officers found the macabre toy and immediately called in the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office to investigate. The petrol station was temporarily closed as officials examined the eerie sight.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn. After a thorough investigation, the authorities confirmed that the teddy bear was not made of any human remains or skin. The shocking discovery led to the arrest of a man named Hector Corona Villanueva.

"Corona Villanueva was arrested and will be booked for PC148.3(a) - Causing the Report of an Emergency while Knowing it to be False and PC141 - Intentionally and Wrongfully Planting Evidence to Falsely Present as Real," the sheriff's department said. "Incidents such as this take up valuable emergency resources and put the public at risk, possibly delaying response time to legitimate calls for service."
