Ed Sheeran Dives into the Art World with Jackson Pollock-Inspired Paintings

British pop sensation Ed Sheeran has taken a creative turn, trading his microphone for a paintbrush. The 34-year-old artist, known for hits like Shape of You and Perfect, has unveiled a new collection of abstract paintings that draw inspiration from the iconic style of Jackson Pollock.

The collection, titled Cosmic Carpark Paintings, is set to be displayed at the Heni art gallery in central London from July 11 to August 1. The pieces, which feature vibrant splashes of color, are described as a tribute to Pollock's chaotic yet mesmerizing style, but with a twist—Sheeran used house paint instead of traditional art supplies.

Sheeran shared the news on social media, explaining that he created the works during a break between his tours. “I paint when I’m not working on a record, just to do something creative with my brain,” he said. “And it’s mostly just splashing colors on canvases, think Jackson Pollock but with colorful house paint.”

The gallery noted that Sheeran’s journey into painting began in 2019, following his record-breaking Divide tour. His early works have even been used as official artwork for his single Afterglow in 2020. The new collection was inspired by celestial patterns and painted in a disused London carpark last year.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of the paintings will go to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, which supports music education in schools. This marks a new chapter in Sheeran’s career, as he continues to explore his creative side beyond music.

Sheeran, one of the most listened-to artists in the world, is also among the 40 richest people under 40 in the UK, with a fortune estimated at £370 million, according to the Sunday Times.

As fans and art enthusiasts eagerly await the exhibition, it's clear that Sheeran is not just a musician—this is the beginning of a new artistic adventure.
