Liam Lawson Forced to Retire on Opening Lap of British Grand Prix at Silverstone

Liam Lawson's hopes of a strong performance at the British Grand Prix were dashed on the very first lap, as he was taken out in a dramatic collision at Silverstone. The incident, which occurred at Turn 5, ended his race prematurely and marked a disappointing return to the track just a week after his career-best finish at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Starting in 15th position, Lawson was caught in a chain reaction caused by Esteban Ocon of Haas. Ocon, who was forced wide by Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda, clipped Lawson's rear-left tire, sending the Racing Bulls driver off the track. The impact caused significant damage to the floor of Lawson's car, making it impossible for him to continue. Despite managing to avoid the barriers, the damage was too severe, and the race was called off for the New Zealand driver.
