A young man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for causing the death of a pedestrian through dangerous driving. The incident occurred during a burnout at a car event in East Tāmaki, Auckland, in February 2023. The victim, a 54-year-old man, was struck by the defendant's car and later died in hospital.
