The New Zealand women's weightlifting team, led by coaches John Kent and Bob Mckillay, is preparing for the upcoming 2024 Commonwealth Games. The team, including young athletes like Oliwa selemaia and Lita Nacagilevu, has been honing their skills at the Papatoetoe Olympic Weightlifting Club. Oliwa selemaia, who recently joined from CrossFit, is focusing on the 69kg class and has already achieved notable success in international competitions. Lita Nacagilevu is transitioning into weightlifting after training with CrossFit and aims to represent New Zealand at international events.
